The dramatic Tor daminates the landscape of the Glastonbury area, offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The Tor, supposed to be the mythical Isle of Avalon, associated with Arthurian legend, Joseph of Arimathea and the Holy Grail, is topped by the remains of tower of the 15th-century church of St Michael.
