Hadrian's Wall & Housesteads Fort, Bardon Mill, Hexham, Northumberland, NE47 6NN.
A six mile section of the Romans' most northerly stone defence, including Housestead's Fort, the best preserved of 13 outposts along the wall.
The Museum has fascinating details of the Roman and later history of this remarkable site, including the infamous Armstrong cattle rustlers who inhabited part of it in the 16th Century.
