Dulwich Picture Gallery has an extensive collection of old masters, including works by Poussin, Claude, Rubens, Murillo, Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Watteau, Gainsborough and many others. They were originally assembled for the King of Poland in the 1790s but when Poland was partitioned, an alternative home was found for them in Dulwich. The Gallery was described by the Sunday Telegraph as "The most beautiful small art gallery in the world"
