Bodiam Castle, Bodiam, Near Robertsbridge, East Sussex, TN32 5UA.
Bodiam is a perfect example of a late medieval moated castle. Built in 1385 it is placed looking out over the East Sussex countryside and was sited to withstand possible attack by the French. by Sir Edward Dalyngrygge. Bodiam is an excellent castle for children; there are Medieval battlements, ramparts and the moat contains enormous carp. Today rather than knights, a Muscovy duck can guard the entrance.
