Derby Cathedral, Irongate, Derby, Derbyshire, DE1 3GP.
Derby Cathedral's history goes back to the 10th Century when a royal collegiate church was founded on the site by King Edmund in 943. No traces remain of this building and some time during the 14th Century, a new church was built. Further rebuilding took place in the early 16th Cenury and the tower, which was built in the Perpendicular style, remains a prominent landmark in the city.
Derby became a cathedral in 1927 and today visitors can enjoy the light and airy interior as well as visit the tower on a number of open days.
