Dunfermline Abbey & Palace, St. Margaret Street, Dunfermline, Fife, KY12 7PE.
Dunfermline Abbey was founded in 1072 by King David I in memory of his mother Queen Margaret. Robert the Bruce is buried here as are many Scottish monarchs as it was the chosen resting place before the island of Iona was adopted.

The foundations of the original building, founded by Queen Margaret, lie under the celebrated 12th century Romanesque style nave which is all that remains of the abbey.
