Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championships

Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championships Slap it on your ribs

Golden Spurtle World Porridge Making Championships, Carrbridge, Morayshire, PH23 3AB.
Porage wonderful poarge! Or as the Philistine English spell it "Porridge". Not that the English know the first thing about making porage, of course. For a start, they’re English and for a second they go and put sugar and cream on it. No, to make the Scottish National dish properly, you have to be a Scot and Eat your Porage Like a Man with salt and butter.

The Golden Spurtle World Porridge-Making Championships is a celebration of all things porridgy. That creamy flavour; that warming sensation of porridge on a cold winter’s morning; over-whelming gut-numbing weight of the stuff as it pins your stomach to the back of your spine and leaves you unable to think of eating anything further until supper or until you’ve walked at least 15 miles though the Scottish drizzle.

The Championships also include a farmers’ market, pipe bands and product tastings.
