Part restaurant, part shop, part craft stuio, part museum, visitors can learn about the history of chocolate in the Chocolate House which is a replica of one built in Bishopsgate in 1657. The House itself dates back to 1630 and is situated on the cobbled street of Branthwaite Brow, it is thought originally to have been a private home, but was later to become a bakery. Today you can step back in time and discover the delights of chocolate in all its different forms. In the shop, there are hundreds of handpicked chocolates, unusual gift ideas, hand ribboned gift boxes, and more. The Restaurant serves 18 speciality chocolate drinks, 14 handmade gateaux from secret recipes. All are served by staff in traditional 17th Century dress.
