Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Bullers Way, Abbotsbury, Dorset, DT3 4lA.
Abbotsbury was first established in 1765 by the first Countess of Ilchester as a kitchen garden to her nearby castle. It has deeveloped since then into a 20 acre garden which includes rare and exotic plants from all over the world. Many of these were brought into this country by the Countess's descendents from plant hunting expeditions.

The present day garden is a mixture of the formal and informal, with walled garden walks and spectacular woodland valley views. It also has a Camellia and Magnolia grove and is noted for its Rhododendrons and Hydrangea collections.
