The Abbey Pumping Museum's speciaity is the history of public hygiene. You can see some the largest steam beam engines in the country. The museum also has exhibitions on light and optics, historic transport and public health. There are exhibits on how our grandparents washed clothes without electricity and how people kept clean before bathrooms. There is the famous interactive loo.
