The museum explores the history and environment of West Lothian. There are levers to pull and tunnels to explore whilst discovering the secrets of West Lothian’s past. The museum also houses many children's activities as well as interactive displays. Displays illustrate Scotland's shale oil industry, other industrial heritage, and other historical issues.
The centuries-old mill and farm buildings are home to a range of friendly farm animals.
Visitors will also find an 18th century watermill, indoor adventure playground, soft play area, narrow-gauge railway, and tractor and trailer rides.
