Amersham Museum, 49 High Street, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 0DP.
The Museum is in part of a 15th century half timbered hall house. In the centre is the original open fire hearth discovered under the hall floor. In the Museum there are collections of exhibits from fossil and archaeological finds to the town's more recent past. You can learn about Amersham during Roman times, the "Amersham Martyrs" and the Medieval wall paintings, the role of the town as a coaching stop and old local crafts of lace, strawplait work and chairmaking. "Family Fundays every Sunday in August 2006" and "Walks around Amersham Old Town every Sunday from Easter to end October at 14:30."
