Bodenham Arboretum
Bodenham Arboretum, Wolverley, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, DY11 5SY.
Bodenham Arboretum is a collection of over 2500 trees set in 134 acres of Worcestershire countryside with 11 pools, four miles of footpaths and a working farm. In addition there is an award-winning 'Earth Centre' set in the hillside overlooking the Big Pool. Many rare and ornamental trees can be seen in flower or fruit at all times of the year, and their autumn colours are particularly fine. The Grand Avenue is planted with Beech to mature in 200 years time. It stretches up to the higher reaches of the Arboretum where there are extensive views to the Clent Hills and surrounding countryside. Walkers can enjoy several miles of paths leading through acres of daffodils in early spring, while later primroses, bluebells and foxgloves line many of the woodland walks and plantations. The Laburnum Tunnel is one of the highlights for visitors in late May or early June. The working farmwhich has a herd of pedigree Hereford suckler cows and calves, and a flock of north country mule ewes.
