Merchant Adventurers Hall, Fossgate, York, North Yorkshire, YO1 9XD .
Built between 1357 & 1361, Merchant Adventurers Hall is the finest building of its date and type in Europe. The Hall is a place of historical and architectural importance and interest. Visitors to the Hall can view the Great Hall where business was conducted, courts were held and social events were attended, they will learn about medieval hospitals when they visit the Hall's Undercroft and they will understand more about the religious practices of the time by viewing the Chapel. Paintings, furniture and silver are all on display to the public. Visitors can also explore the attractive gardens that surround the hall. An audio guide is also included in the visit.
