Michelham Priory

Michelham Priory, Upper Dicker, Near Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 3QS.
Michelham Priory is an attractive historic property surrounded by the Sussex countryside. Visitors can enjoy exhibits, gardens, art exhibitions, wildlife, and a working watermill.
Michelham Priory's "Island of History" reflects nearly 800 years of history. It contains England’s longest medieval water-filled moat.
The house dates back to 1229 and the range of furniture and artefacts on display trace the property’s religious origins through its life as a working farm. The displays also portray its development as a country house.
Exhibits include tapestries, furniture, kitchen equipment and an 18th century child’s bedroom.
The garden sculpture trail features works by local artists.
