Fairbourne Railway

Fairbourne Railway, Beach Road, Fairbourne, Dolgellau, Gwynedd, LL38 2PZ.
The Fairbourne & Barmouth Railway track was originally laid in 1895. The line is 2 miles long and runs between Fairbourne Station and Penrhyn Point, site of the Pullman Pavilion Restaurant, where passengers can embark on the Ferry to Barmouth.
Photographs and documents connected with Fairbourne's history, together with railway memorabilia, can be viewed in the Station Museum. There is also an art gallery where visitors will find displays of work by local artists. Originals and prints available to purchase.
There is also an opportunity to view the station with the longest name, entered in the Guinness Book of Records, "GORSAFAWDDACHAIDRAIGODANHEDDOGLEDDOLLONPENRHYNAREURDRAETHCEREDIGION" or "The Mawddach Station with its dragon's teeth on the northerly Penrhyn Drive on the golden beach of Cardigan Bay." Passengers can alight here to use the 9 hole Golf Course, or to take the Causeway and Rail/Foot bridge walk to Barmouth.
