Blue Reef Aquarium enables you to look at sea life from sharks, seahorses and clownfish to octopus, crabs and lobsters. Open-top tanks allow close encounters with friendly rays while shallow tide-pools and crashing surf displays recreate the seas' many different aspects. There is a giant tropical ocean display with its own underwater tunnel, from which visitors can see over 30 living displays. At Newquay Blue Reef's team of aquarists is involved in pioneering captive breeding programmes for native and tropical species - recent breeding successes include sharks, rays, seahorses, cuttlefish and many more. The aquarium is even growing and propagating its own hard coral in an innovative new display which highlights the threats faced by the world's coral reefs
