The Blue Reef Aquarium overlooks the North sea and is home to hundreds of tropical species. These include some of the largest and deadliest members of the amphibian family, ranging from the highly toxic poison dart frogs from South America to the giant cane toad, which has run through parts of Northern Australia. The Blue Reef Nursery contains a wide range of newborn aquatic life. Recent breeding successes include both native and tropical sharks and rays, seahorses, bangaii cardinal fish, cichlids, cuttlefish and more. Other sea creatures to view include crabs, lobsters, shrimps, otters, angelfish, puffer fish, deadly preditors, octopus, and more. Visitors can enjoy innovative displays, informative talks and feeding demonstrations, as well as various exhibitons and events.
