King Cymbeline's two sons are stolen as babies in an act of revenge. When his daughter Imogen marries against his wishes Cymbeline banishes her husband. Meanwhile the banished son-in-law is tricked into thinking that his wife has been unfaithful to him and plans to kill her. She flees for her life, taking refuge in a cave, which is, of course, the hiding place of her two brothers....
