Coors Brewers, formerly Bass, have a modern breweing process at Alton. The brewery was built in the early 1960s and was short listed as one of the finest industrial buildings in the country. Carling, Grolsch (Brewed under licence) and Worthington Cream Flow are all produced at the brewery. Visitors can have a tour of the brewery lasting for approximately 1 hour, in which you see the whole process from the first grain through to the kegging process. The tours include a finger buffet lunch or supper and the opportunity to try the products produced at Alton and others in the Coors Portfolio. Coors are very strict about not serving alcohol to drivers and there are also soft drinks provided.
