Bookers Vineyard
Bookers Vineyard, Bolney Wine Estate, Foxhole Lane, Bolney, West Sussex, RH17 5NB.
Bookers is one of the oldest vineyards of the modern English era. Planting began in 1973 with the first pressing three years later in 1976. Now production extends to White and Red Still wines, plus White and Rosé Sparkling. Visits start with a tour of the vineyard first. Visitors can see the vines, learn how they are trained and hear about the growing and harvesting seasons. In September and October there is the opportunity to look at all the different grape varieties. Then it is on to the winery to learn about the winemaking process from the arrival of the grapes to bottling of the finished wine. The tours are completed with a tasting consisting of five to six Bookers Vineyard wines, including different vintages to show how well English wines can age.
