The Centre for Alternative Technology is set in beautiful countryside and is Europe’s leading eco-centre. A water-balanced cliff railway offers a dramatic entrance to CAT's seven-acre display site. The Centre is run largely on home-grown renewable electricity and displays include solar, wind and water power. Environmental building, organic growing, pest and weed control and composting are also well represented.
There are many hands-on activities, an adventure playground, a transport maze, and animals to watch.
