Chillingham Wild Cattle Park, Corbridge, Northumberland, NE66 5NP.
Visit a unique herd of wild cattle in the park at Chillingham, the sole survivors of herds that once roamed the forests of Britain. Visitors will be accompanied by the Warden, who will take you as close as possible and talk about the cattle and their history.
The park also contains many other interesting creatures such as roe deer and fallow deer as well as red squirrels, foxes and badgers.
The park is also home to over 50 species of birds.
The lower part of the park contains alder trees and looks much as it was in medieval times.
The park was landscaped in the 1760's, with many beeches and oaks planted by the Earl of Tankerville. Other species of trees were planted in the middle of the 19th century.
