Faces of the Festival

Edinburgh at Festival time. Don’t even think about bringing your car into the city centre. Half the World will already have done so and you’ll sit in a queue of traffic watching the revellers outside, knowing you're missing out on the party.

The best, the only way to see Edinburgh, to feel the buzz of the Festival, is on foot.

To see all the shows would take a lifetime; to pay for the tickets, the income of a small country. But if it’s raw talent you want rather than status symbol venues and over-hyped shows, then head for Princes Street or the Royal Mile, where street entertainers will give you a feast for nothing. ardbeg.jpg
